The simulation results show that the method proposed in this paper can more accurately evaluate wind turbine’s equivalent inertia under virtual inertia control than the traditional method. Therefore, aiming at virtual inertia control, a commonly used inertia support method for wind turbine, this paper proposes a method for evaluating the wind turbine’s equivalent inertia based on independent component analysis, which solves the problem that changes in wind speed and wind turbine’s rotational speed affect the accuracy of equivalent inertia evaluation results. At the same time, the difference in power output characteristics between wind turbine and traditional synchronous generator also brings new challenges to the evaluation of equivalent inertia. As a high permeability of wind power is integrated into the power grid, wind turbine also needs to have inertia support capabilities to reduce the adverse impact on grid frequency stability. ![]() Equivalent inertia evaluation can provide an important basis for transmission system operators to grasp the real-time inertia level of the power grid in real-time, formulate safety and stability measures, and design frequency recovery strategies. ![]() Inertia is one of the important indicators to measure the power system’s anti-disturbance capability. ![]()
